As the waters begin to recede, dry land appears. The barren land reveals the scars from the formation of the planet. Hot gasses spew from fissures deep within the mantle, and the atmosphere is engulfed with noxious air. Mountains and plains become visible, as the Earth prepares itself for life to follow.
